Developing programs to empower individuals with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, along with supporting their families. While promoting advocacy and fostering inclusion to help them achieve their full potential.
Why KennedyStrong was created.
Why KennedyStrong?
For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), like Kennedy Boone- the inspiration behind KennedyStrong Foundation- there are limited resources for inclusive programming. KennedyStrong Foundation (KSF) is changing the landscape by creating programs and services to support individuals with IDD and their families. In addition to the programs and services, KSF promotes advocacy and inclusion to help individuals reach their full potential.
Inspiring Individuals for Life!
Our Programs
Our programs are purpose built to affect 3 primary data points associated with adults with IDD:
1) the current unemployment rate of 65 percent,
2) eight (8) in ten (10) adults lack access to affordable, independent housing and
3) 54% of their caregivers do not have a plan for the future.
The core components to affecting these three points are inclusion, relationships, and education. For families, between individuals, and within the community at large.
KennedyStrong Foundation knows that inclusion is built on relationships and those relationships lead to opportunity! Our programs aim to be the staple of excellence for inclusive practices and implementation to make lifelong change in our community by establishing replicable, data-driven practices in both youth and adult programming.
Inclusive relationships and opportunities are possible due to generous commitments of donors, partners, and volunteers like you. Together, we can foster a kinder world with greater opportunity for all.
