Scott Ingold
Treasurer
Scott Ingold is a financial advisor with Arrow & Bow Wealth Advisors, bringing over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. A proud graduate of the University of North Carolina and lifelong Tar Heel fan, Scott has combined his professional expertise with a deep personal commitment to the Down syndrome community.
Since 2005, Scott and his family have been active in the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte (DSAGC). He has served as one of the leaders of the DSAGC DADS (Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome) group for nearly a decade and contributed his time to the 321 Dash 5K committee for several years. Scott lives in Concord with his son Lee and their dog, Sally Meatball.
Zack Roehrs
Athletics Supervisor – City of Concord Parks and Recreation Department
Zack Roehrs has been dedicated to serving his community since 2013. He became part of the City of Concord in 2015, where he currently holds the position of Athletics Supervisor for the Parks and Recreation Department. In this role, Zack is responsible for overseeing and supervising a variety of athletic programs, road race events, and the City pool. His commitment to enhancing community engagement through sports and recreation has played a vital role in the development and success of Concord’s recreational offerings. He is deeply passionate about sports and creating equitable opportunities for all through recreational programs.
Zack is a graduate of Barton College with a BA in Sport and Business Management. He is dedicated to spending quality time with his three beautiful daughters and his wife, who are the center of his life. In his free time, he enjoys hitting the golf links and playing hockey, balancing his professional and personal passions with the activities he loves.
Christine Manning
Experienced Educator at Corvian Community School
Christine Manning is an accomplished educator with 30 years of experience in the classroom. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Throughout her career, Christine has demonstrated a deep commitment to child development and education, having served in various leadership roles, including as Grade Level Chair, Department Chair, and Curriculum Leader. Her expertise in child development, educational leadership, and facilitating crucial conversations has made her a valued voice in educational circles.
Christine is a proud member of Kappa Delta Pi, the prestigious Education Honor Society, and she has a proven track record of enhancing the educational experience for both students and staff. Her contributions to shaping curriculum and fostering educational growth have positively impacted the learning environment at every level.
In addition to her professional achievements, Christine has a strong passion for community service. She enjoys volunteering at her church, working with the elderly, and playing board games in her free time.
Christine’s extensive experience, leadership skills, and commitment to improving education and community welfare make her an invaluable asset to the Board.
Marian Tillman
Finance and Accounting Lead
Marian joined KSF in January 2023 after meeting Betsy and Kennedy at a church event. She is a CPA licensed in North Carolina and Mississippi with over 10 years of accounting experience. She is an audit Senior Manager at KPMG. Marian obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi. She has a passion for inclusion and believes that there are no limits to what one can achieve. She is not only an advocate for others who cannot always advocate for themselves, but she also helps them learn how to advocate for themselves. She is also a mentor to many who want to break barriers and forge their own path to reach their goals.
Betsy Boone
Founding Member
Betsy (Kennedy’s Mom), and her husband are the cofounders of KSF. Betsy has been in sales & business development for 20 years. Her advocacy work began 6 years ago when Kennedy was born. She gains momentum on a regular basis by inspiring others to look for their own capabilities & opportunities for inclusion & integration in every area of life.
Betsy is a graduate of Appalachian State University and resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband and four children.
Brendon Boone
Founding Member
Brendon (Kennedy’s Dad), co-founded KSF with his wife Betsy. Brendon has been in finance and Banking for 30 years. His commitment to advocacy began when they received the prenatal diagnosis of Trisomy 21 also known as Down syndrome. He is an active participant of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, serving as President for the 2020-2022 term. Brendon is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Charlotte and resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife and four children.
Vision Statement
The KennedyStrong Foundation sees an inclusive world where individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual/developmental disabilities are contributing members within their communities and living out their dreams of independence.
