Announcement for Parent Meet Up
Hi, I am Kathi Wilson, MA, Med. and along with Betsy Boone of the KennedyStrong Foundation I am so happy to have this opportunity to personally invite you to our Parent Meet – Up for children with special needs – TEAM Parent (Teach Empower Advocate Mentor). In other words children who are struggling academically, behaviorally, socially, emotionally, have physical health needs or who are just not moving along as you would have hoped or at the same rate as their peers.
Our goal is to provide an encouraging space for you to ask questions, get answers, and grow your community so that you can be a knowledgeable proactive leader on your child’s school team.
Our meetings are organic – meaning they are responsive to the needs of the parents in the room. Along with an extensive question and answer session we will be going deeper into how schools support children and topics of timely interest.
In addition to meeting the needs of the parents in the room each month a special topic of interest will be explored – things every parent should be mindful of as they advocate for their child.
Please come and join us at the TEAM Parent Meetings on the 1st Wednesday of the month – 6:30 to 8:00 pm. We start gathering at 6:15 so that the meetings can begin promptly at 6:30. Enter through the lower parking lot off Brookstone through the door marked Church Office. We are in room 120.
Our goal at TEAM Parent is to Teach, Empower, Advocate and Mentor you the parent to play a vital role on your child’s school team for their entire educational journey.
If you have any questions please reach out to me at kathitheadvocate@gmail.com that’s kathi with an i. We hope to see you at our next meeting.
