At the KennedyStrong Foundation, we believe in the power of community, love, and inclusion. This summer, our Let’s Make Connections (LMC) program truly embodied these values, creating unforgettable memories for all involved. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to extend a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, families, friends, and participants who made our June and July sessions an outstanding success.

A Summer of Joy and Connection

The LMC summer program was filled with laughter, creativity, and camaraderie. Each session was a vibrant tapestry of activities designed to foster connection and fun for children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Cookies and Creativity

Who doesn’t love cookies? Our baking sessions were a hit, with participants decorating delicious cookies that looked almost too good to eat! The smiles on the children’s faces as they proudly displayed their cookie creations were priceless. The kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of freshly baked treats and the sound of shared laughter, making these sessions a delightful highlight.

Crafting Memories

Craft sessions allowed our participants to let their imaginations soar. With glitter, glue, and endless creativity, the children made beautiful crafts to take home as keepsakes. These moments of artistic expression not only nurtured their creativity but also built fine motor skills and a sense of accomplishment.

Games and Giggles

From relay races to team-building games, the joy of play was ever-present. Our games sessions were designed to encourage teamwork, physical activity, and, most importantly, fun. The energy was infectious, with everyone cheering each other on and celebrating each victory, big or small.

Dancing the Day Away

Dance sessions were another major hit. With lively music and enthusiastic instructors, our participants danced their hearts out, expressing themselves through movement and rhythm. These sessions were a wonderful way for the children to build confidence and enjoy the simple joy of dancing with friends.

Hugs and Heartfelt Moments

One of the most beautiful aspects of LMC is the warmth and genuine connection shared among everyone involved. The hugs, high-fives, and heartfelt conversations created an atmosphere of love and acceptance. Seeing friendships blossom and watching the children support and uplift each other was truly heartwarming.

Gratitude for Our Community

None of this would have been possible without the dedication and passion of our volunteers. Your selflessness and hard work have made a lasting impact on the lives of our participants. To the families and friends who joined us, your support and encouragement were invaluable. And to our wonderful participants, thank you for bringing your joy, creativity, and spirit to each session.
